Who We Are

Welfare and Support Afghan Women Disability Organization (WSAWDO) is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization established in 2012 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. The organization was founded to respond to the urgent needs of women and persons with disabilities who face systemic discrimination, social exclusion, and limited access to basic services.

WSAWDO works to promote gender equality, disability inclusion, and social justice through advocacy, awareness-raising, community-based rehabilitation, and capacity-building programs. The organization places a strong emphasis on empowering women with disabilities by enhancing their participation in social, economic, and public life.

With extensive experience working at the community level, WSAWDO collaborates with local authorities, civil society organizations, international partners, and community leaders to implement inclusive and sustainable interventions. The organization is committed to transparency, accountability, and human dignity, ensuring that the voices of women and persons with disabilities are central to all its initiatives.

WSAWDO operates with a rights-based and participatory approach, aiming to create an inclusive society where all individuals—regardless of gender, age, or disability—can live with dignity and equal opportunities.

Our Vision

WSAWDO envisions an inclusive and equitable society in which women and persons with disabilities in Afghanistan are fully recognized, respected, and empowered to participate equally in all aspects of social, economic, cultural, and public life.

We aspire to a future where discrimination, violence, and exclusion based on gender or disability are eliminated, and where women with disabilities have equal access to education, healthcare, employment, and decision-making opportunities.

Our vision is grounded in the principles of human dignity, gender equality, and social justice, and reflects our commitment to building resilient, inclusive communities where diversity is valued and every individual can live with safety, independence, and hope.
